Panamanian Edmundo Sosa feels right at home with the Phillies

Panamanian baseball player Edmund Sosa He is having a good time with the Philadelphia Phillies, a team where he feels at home.

That comfort translates into motivation to do things right when it comes to stepping onto the diamond.

“I feel at home. I feel comfortable here. I love my companions. People have been great to me. That’s the motivation you need to do the extra work, do the little things to show them the best version of me,” he told The Press in Atlantic City.

Sosa plays with enthusiasm. A few days ago, after a well-timed punch, he shook his fist and pretended to tear his shirt as if Clark Kent had turned into Superman.

Phillies manager Rob Thomson mentioned how Sosa is a wonderful kid off the field and “electric” on the field.

According to Sosa, he learned that vitality in every game playing in Panama.

“The way I learned to play baseball in Panama is the way I play it now. You have to bring energy every day. You have to help your team. That’s my way of playing,” he added.

On July 30, Philadelphia traded reliever JoJo Romero to St. Louis Cardinals for Sosa. Sosa hit .315 in 25 games with Philadelphia last season.

“He’s an elite defender. He stays focused and becomes part of the attacking force,” Thomson added.

In this regard, Sosa emphasized that he knows it is his The defense is pretty good, but people need to know that he also has a good bat.

Sosa is currently hitting .317 with six RBIs and 2 home runs in 41 at-bats.
