Etesa reduces the impact of the carbon footprint in Panama

The Electric Transmission Company, SA (Etesa) presented the results obtained in the Recycling Program created during the first quarter of this year.

The report highlights the work done between January 1 and March 31, 2023, with the aim of taking care of Environmenttogether with the adoption of a recycling policy which produced the following results, in addition to collecting:

• + 340 kilograms of cardboard
• +1000 kilograms from paper
• + 15 kilograms of metal
• + 24 kilograms of tetrapak
• + 45 kilograms of plastic

With this recyclingyear, the reduction of the carbon footprint was achieved by recycling + 5.30 tons of CO2 (carbon dioxide), by which Etesa shows a qualitative proof of its commitment to the preservation and care of the environment.

In addition, measures adopted in five offices Etesa, both in Juan Díaz, Sun Tower, National Dispatch Centeras well as in its headquarters in Coclé and Chiriquí, it obtained other important results, among which stand out: the saving of more than 2,260 liters of gasoline, 38,500 liters of water, the saving of more than 10,250 MWH, together with the rescue and rescue of 24 trees.

He General Manager of Etesa, Carlos Mosquera Castillohe emphasized about these results, the full faith of the company “in a sustainable Panama and a better future for our environment and for future generations.”

He emphasized that Etesa is a “socially and environmentally responsible” company, in which “we recycle, preserve and support all actions for a greener earth”.

He repeated that Etesa remains committed to exceed the results achieved in the recycling program and increase the saved resources by the second quarter of 2023, becoming a business model to follow.
