Anderlecht and Panama’s Murillo are looking for a ticket to the semi-finals

The Belgian Anderlecht, for which the Panamanian Michael Amir Murillo plays, plays his ticket to the semi-finals of the European Conference League with today’s meeting against the Dutchman Azzo Alkmaar in the first game.

The Belgian team led by coach Brian Riemer will face Azz Alkmaar at home when they welcome them to Anderlecht’s Lotto Park at (14:00 Panama time).

With Panamanian Murillo as the starter, Anderlecht just eliminated Spain’s Villarreal from the European Championship, while Azz Alkmaar left Italy’s Lazio on the road.

In the Belgian domestic championship, Anderlecht is in ninth place in the overall table of 18 teams with 46 points in 32 games, slightly behind the leader Gent, who has 71 points.

While the Dutch Azz is fourth in the general ranking of 18 teams with 54 points in 28 days, Feyenoord is the leader with 67 points.

Anderlecht and Azz have never met in the Conference League, but they have met twice in the Europa League, that was in 2012 and both games were won by the Dutch team.

In the current season, the Panamanian Murillo with Anderlecht played 29 matches in the Belgian domestic championship out of 32 possible and played 2448 minutes with three goals and three assists.

A right-back who played for San Francisco of Chorrera, in the current 10-game European Conference League tournament, Murillo saw action in 8 games and in all played 720 minutes and provided three assists for a goal.

The two games Murillo missed in the European Conference League were due to red card suspensions, according to transfermarkt.

If Anderlecht makes it to the semifinals of the European Conference League, the winner of the crucial match between the English West Ham and Gent, also from Belgium, awaits them.
