Acodeco received 266 complaints for more than $2 million in March

The Directorate for Consumer Protection and Defense of Market Competition (Acodeco)received in March, 266 complaints from various consumers, in the total amount of $2,837,549.18.

Lawsuits were filed against 46 different businesses, among them 47 against the furniture trades for $2,436,003.49; 23 cases against funeral homes in the amount of $832.00; 23 cable television claims totaling $1,209.98; 21 complaints against hotels or vacation plans totaling $47,186.74.

Except, 17 requests for the sale of household appliances and electronic equipment for $15,008.62; 14 for telephone service at $1,726.36; 13 requests for the sale of mobile phones in the amount of 1,843.18; 13 used cars for sale priced at $92,969.75.

were also received eight claims for parts and repair services (various non-automotive workshops), for the amount of USD 2,815.87; eight against department stores for $2,052.97 and seven complaints against auto dealerships for $159,492.09.

The list of businesses with consumer complaints continues with auto repair shops, hardware stores, building material stores and the like, travel agencies, furniture stores, electronic equipment stores, art events, supermarkets, clinics, English courses, building materials, private schools, installation services, auto parts, and more.

Among the grounds of complaint presented in codecduring March 2023, they point out 71 due to lack of information; 60 breach of warranty; 34 due to contract termination; 28 unfair terms; 20 breach of service; 17 hidden vices; 10 refund; 9 custody of property; and 5 breach of contract.

Regarding the complaints that Acodeco resolved in favor of consumers, last month 192 complaints were resolved in the total amount of $2,291,365.82.

Acodeco reiterates that all complaints regarding non-compliance with Law 45 of 2007 are promptly dealt with by headquarters and the various regional administrations.
