Kenyan Hose and Panamanian Jurado win in Aguadulce

Kenyan Kipkemboi Hosea and Panamanian Jury of Geoconda wrote their names in golden letters in the record books after winning top honors in the 21 km race IX Classic Saturday of glory which was held on April 8 in Aguadulce, Cocle.

It is worth mentioning that it was the first time that a distance of 21 kilometers was run at this test, because until now only distances of 10 and 5 kilometers were run.

Hosea attacked together early Cristofer Jurado and Edwin Rodríguez when the race had barely gone 1 kilometer to Playa El Salao. But after running the first 6, only Jurado could keep up with him and after turning, the African attacked again with 4 kilometers to go in a strategy that paid off.

In the women’s category, Jurado crossed the finish line first with a time of 1:36:12, followed by Marisabel Toruño with 1:38:09 and Yoira Rodríguez with 1:38:28.

GONZÁLEZ AND MARTÍNEZ WIN THE 10K

On the other hand, in the 10 kilometer category, Veraguense Daniel González He won for the second year in a row, this time with a time of 31:50 minutes, bettering 2022’s 32:48.

González was followed by José Cedeño (32:12) and Javier Bonilla (36:06).

In the women’s branch, the winner was Evelyn Martinez with a time of 44:40 minutes, followed by Vanessa Campioli with 46:53 and Carmen Villarreal with 48:24.

5K WINNERS

In the 5 kilometer category, the winner in the men’s branch was Javier Cortés with a time of 15:45 minutes. He was followed by Manuel Pérez with a time of 15:52 and Petter Vega with 16:04.

Suyeris Guerra she won this women’s distance with 18:40 minutes, followed by Erica Sánchez (20:46) and Ángela Ferris (21:05).

More than 400 athletes from both disciplines participated in the 3-distance disciplines.
