The board of directors of La Voz approves the distribution of benefits among the workers

Santiago Rey praises the staff’s commitment to the Corporación Voz business project

The board of directors of La Voz de Galicia SA, chaired by Santiago Rey Fernández-Latorre, approved on Tuesday the formulation of the accounts for 2022 of the company and other companies of Corporación Voz. The administrative body confirmed the distribution of benefits among the workers of companies in the printing sector, in accordance with the criteria agreed with the boards of companies in the renewal of collective agreements. The distribution of benefits, along with the wage increases included in the Corporación Voz agreements, responds to the escalation of inflation and reaffirms the commitment to unity between the workforce and the company.

During the board meeting, the executive president and sole manager of La Voz de Galicia, Santiago Rey Fernández-Latorre, praised the involvement of staff in his business project, which had to face a sharp increase in raw material costs due to the logistical collapse and the war in Ukraine. However, the inflationary effect was partially mitigated by the increase of consolidated operating income by more than one and a half million euros compared to 2021, reaching 58.8 million.

The consolidated result before taxation and after the distribution of profits among the workers was 613,000 euros. All companies of the Corporation, both in the printing division and in the audiovisual business division, achieved positive results. In the latter, the benefits of the Voz Audiovisual production company, which during the 2022 competition achieved exceptional viewership shares, are especially highlighted. catch Me If You Can and series say goodbye to you.

On Wednesday, the Audiovisual Media Council of Galicia, chaired by Santiago Rey Fernández-Latorre, was also held to formulate the accounts for the past year. The positive evolution in 2022 in the results of all companies of the audiovisual group, including the production company and the chain of radio stations RadioVoz, raised the consolidated result before taxation to 484,000 euros.

Both management boards analyzed the state of the media sector and the digitalization process in the creation and distribution of content. The president, Santiago Rey, emphasized that the dedication of the staff, the pursuit of quality information and proximity, the control of printing and distribution and the dedication to subscriptions are the reasons why La Voz de Galicia reached a milestone last year and became the third newspaper in regular sales in Spain, surpassing them only Earth and Vanguardand above abc and Worldfourth or fifth.
