Spain and Scotland in the battle for the lead in their group

The Spanish side are looking for sole leadership of Group A at Hampden Park this Tuesday after a good start en route to euro 2024and the improvement of the game in which Luis de la Fuente’s hand is more visible, in the demanding test against Scotland, which ensures maximum intensity.

Spain and Scotland they have three points in Group A, which they also make Norway, Georgia and Cypruse that have no units.

The substitution of Dani Ceballos surprised everyone in the last game Spain in terms of Norway when he was expected to characterize the style of play, but now he is emerging as one of the novelties against Scotland.

“We have to keep growing,” admits Luis De La Fuente, a technician at Spainwho still doesn’t see the mechanisms he wants to incorporate into style retouching.

There are boundaries in his 4-2-3-1 that he has to adapt names to, with Gavi and Iago Aspas, far from their natural boundaries, with a lower performance than what they claim at their clubs. Players like Fabián Ruiz, who assisted against Norwayor Nico Williams, if Spain want to use the counter-attack, appear as options for the coach to throw in.

In recent months, Scotland has made great progress and will have the addition of striker Lawrence Shankland, the second top scorer in the Scottish league, as an added threat against Spain.

Scotland manager Steve Clarke confirmed on Monday that his team play every game “to win” and must be “disciplined and organised” ahead of this Tuesday’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Spain in Glasgow.

Scotland is facing Spainon day two of Group A, on course to qualify for the European Cup for the second time in decades.

Scotland, whose followers are known as the “Tartan Army”, began their journey in the group with a victory against Cyprus (3-0), in a duel with a double from their midfielder McTominay, who extended the initial lead by John McGinn, and co-host with Spain.

“I play every game to win,” said the Scottish coach, who last weekend renewed his contract with the Blues until 2026 and indicated that against Spain, it won’t be any different.
