The Isthmian was held on four different grounds in our country. The first two contested in Mantarraya Golf Club and Vista Mar Beach & Marina, while this weekend the third round of qualifications was played in Panama Golf Club and primarily circuit in Santa Maria Golf Club.
In category A, the juniors stood out, when Carlos Sacre Junior and Fernando Troitiño, after four rounds they were tied with 318 shots, for which they had to play the playoff score winner Fernando Troitiño.
The first net place was won by Nelsón Ruízwhich he occupied Third place gross tied with Ricardo Cardoze with 321 hits. Regarding the victory in category A, Troitiño commented: “good day, long, complicated, good competition, I’m very satisfied with the organization of the tournament every day, it’s a very good feeling to win a tournament different from the ones I’m used to and I’m very satisfied victory”.
In category B, the winner was Rodigo Alomía with 336 hits. “It’s a very good thing that can happen to a golfer who is competitive, but to achieve that you have to dedicate yourself to training and practice, this is not that I’m going to come and win, you have to practice and for me it’s a very rewarding victory and keep me for 4 days in this tournament, which is one of the most important here in Panama and has been established for a long time, Many thanks to APAGOLF” Alomía commented after the win. The first net place was won by Juan Pablo Pardo.
Fernando Cardoze was the winner of category C with 350 hits and Ricardo Barrios stayed in Net first place. Fernando Cardozé, He reflected on his victory: “Thank you very much, it feels amazing, the first tournament I played alone in my life, not counting the Mexicans, I hope it’s the first of many, I felt kind of bad, because I started with a three on the first hole and I calmed down. Jaime Vásquez won in category D with 398 shots and the first net was José Brito. Vásques commented: “For me it is a source of pride, it is the most important tournament in Republic, I started the round super badbut by persistence I achieved the victory.”
On his part, in Women’s categorywith electrified termination Alessandra Arango, he won with 329 strokes Category by one stroke ahead of Alexa Rodríguez Calipolitti, defined in the last hole. Alexa won net first place. Arango, very excited at the end, commented: “I’m very happy to see the tournament won, El Isthmian, it was a very tough 4-day tournament, I want to thank APAGOLF throughout the organization”.
Istmian, which has been held since 1918, is the tournament with the longest tradition in our country, and it distributed important points for National Amateur Ranking, World Amateur Golf Ranking and Mid Am Tour Panama.
