Swiss manufacturer computer peripherals Logitech will lay off 300 people working in its factories around the world as part of this corporate “reorganization process”.
A company spokesman told the Swiss press this Friday that the layoffs will affect the company’s workers in Switzerland and other countries.
The company is a manufacturer of mice, keyboards, speakers and headphones, among other computer related products.
The sales from Logitech, which experienced a strong growth in the first two years pandemic due to the increase in remote work, fell 22% in the last quarter of 2022compared to the same period of the previous year.
The CEO of the technology company based in the Swiss city of Morges attributed this decline to progressive reduction of business costs sector and consumers hardware technological.
So far this year, major tech companies have announced layoffs of more than 150,000 people worldwide due to poor economic performance.
Last week, several hundred Google workers in Zurich (Switzerland) went on a one-day strike to protest the layoffs of 5% of the company’s global workforce.
