With more than 700 adventure tourism professionals from around the world, Panama will become the global epicenter of this industry that accounts for more than $600 billion in tourism spending annually.
Panama will position itself as a sustainable, world-class tourism destination based on exceptional wealth and natural and cultural diversity, prioritizing communities that host tourism experiences.
“Being a very small country, Panama consolidates international leadership in this segment based on our exceptional wealth and natural and cultural diversity, becoming a unique opportunity for communities throughout the country to promote their tourism experiences, in alliance with hotels, tour operators, guides and other members tourism value chain,” said Eskildsen.
The Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) Vice President Gabriella Stowell, he expressed his pride in working with Panama.
“Panama will have a significant economic impact during the World Adventure Travel Summit, as visitors will be able to learn about the quality and diversity of its tourism products,” Stowell noted.
One million 945 thousand tourists have visited the country since December 2020, and the trend is expected to improve by 2023, reaching between 2.2 and 2.4 million visitors.
In terms of infrastructure and projects, the ATP highlights the 1000 km of Senderos with its pilot project, the La Caldera route in the Valle de Antón, the visitor centers that are being developed together with the Biomuseo to strengthen the local identity of the communities National level .
ATP has made progress in training local guides and maintains a Panama for Nature awareness campaign, among other important projects.
