The company anticipates that the magnetic compensating rods will be ready in July 2024 and will give priority to utility companies in the reforms to be implemented if they are equal to other companies in terms of safety and cost

Workers’ Council i alcohol They met this Wednesday in Madrid. After the meeting, unions reported “bad news” regarding bilateral renewable energy agreements, or PPAs, since the fifteen wind farms included in Alcoa’s contracts with Greenalia and Endes have not received a positive Environmental Impact Statement (DIA). The management reported that it plans to make the investment magnetic offset tapes in July 2024.

As for this improvement, included in the agreement to temporarily stop electrolysis activities, “there will be a three-month bottleneck until the necessary splice plates arrive,” the board acknowledged. However, he qualified, «Fundición will start production of these bars this month to be able to machine them, as there is already a machining contract signed by one of the external companies. There is another agreement to be signed, for security reasons, in terms of assembly,” he elaborated. They would be assembled at a rate of 10 barrels per month, Alcoa said.

Hire assistants when making investments “Safety will be a priority, and for the same price, a local contractor will knock it out”said the board.

As for the movement of funds, the union representative specified that $5.3 million was paid into the improvement projects, and asked to see the signed contracts for each job in order to release the investment deposit.

As for PPAs, 41 wind farms are planned (twelve connected to Endes and another 29 to Greenalia). Of those related to the first company, the Ministry approved five out of six, with some reductions compared to the initial projects. The Xunta gave the green light to three of the six.

Of the facilities included in the PPA with Greenalia, only five of the 16 that depend on the Galician executive have been approved. Another 13 remaining wind farms, five of which are under the Ministry, have subsequent approval. “We have a problem with the Xunta de Galicia,” the committee pointed out.

In this situation, no new PPAs are expected to be signed. “Alcoa says deals with other suppliers, like Capital Energy, are difficult because they have a positive DIA and if they can sell in the market at 100, they won’t sell at 30. Complementary power pacts are underway from the lowest level,” the committee concluded.
