British company buys Galician IM FutuRe, dedicated to wind blade maintenance

UK-based RES, the world’s largest independent renewable energy company based in London and focused on asset maintenance, has acquired 167-employee Galician company IM FutuRe. Headquartered in Santiago, it is dedicated to the inspection and repair of wind blades. In the last three years, he examined more than two thousand of them, according to the RES press release. The British announced that its 167 workers and management team will join RES and continue to offer services to clients such as Iberdrola, EDPR, Naturgy, EnergieKontor and Olivento.

Integral Management Future Renewables (IM FutuRe) earned nearly 900,000 euros in 2021, according to accounts filed with the Commercial Register.

RES pointed out that the acquisition of the Galician company will mean that it will take over the contract for the supply of services for 1,400 wind turbines in Spain and Portugal with a total capacity of 1.5 gigawatts. The operation represents RES’ entry into Spain and Portugal “following its growth strategy for the services unit, offering high-value financial and technical asset management and operation and maintenance services to its clients,” the British company explained.

RES currently serves more than twelve gigawatts of assets in operation worldwide, focusing on extending the life, improving the efficiency and performance of these assets.

The purchase of the Galician company is the third acquisition of RES this year, after the acquisitions in Australia and Denmark, and its purpose is to “strengthen the offer through more technologies and markets”.
