The Panamanians will not go on vacation for the World Cup

Both the Panamanian women’s national team, under the leadership of Ignacio “Nacho” Quintana, and the U-17 team with Mike Stump, were awarded for their World Cup qualifications.

“The commitment continues, we have already moved on to the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in 2023, now we are going to compete, we are not going on vacation, we are still players and above all we have a spectacular coaching staff and it is the best in the world,” he said coach of the Mexican at the service of Panama, Quintana.

The women’s national team of Panama and the U-17 team were welcomed by fans, family and friends in the parking lot of the Rommel Fernández stadium, to celebrate qualifying for the World Cup.

In his statements to the public, Quintana showed his joy, time to celebrate, but also reminded that the World Cup qualifications are not only for 23 players and reminded the players who were part of the qualification process

“Nacho” Quintana, thanked all of Panama for the support he has received since he arrived in the country and for being told that he is “more Panamanian than cutarra”.

As for midfielder Marta Cox, the draw “was torture, but every torture has its fruits and here we are, we’re at the World Cup,” Cox said.

“The process was difficult, everything we went through was difficult,” said Natalia Mills, captain of the Panamanian team, who revealed that retirement had crossed her mind.

Winners up to 17 years old

For its part, the U-17 national team also received recognition for qualifying for the 2023 World Cup in Peru.

“La Rojita” ended a 10-year drought of not qualifying for the U-17 World Cup and now plans to prepare to go to Peru to do the best job possible.

This is a team that had clear goals, intelligent, that loves football, its country, sings the national anthem strongly and we will do that in Peru, said Stump.
