Transporters complain that they have not yet received the bonus of 20 cents of diesel for January

The International Association of Road Transport (ASTIC) condemned that less than 5% of its affiliated companies received income corresponding to 20 Lipa per liter of fuel last January.

The employers’ association conducted a survey among its members —more than 200 companies with an average of 120 heavy vehicles per company—, which also concluded that less than 10% of companies managed to bring in an amount corresponding to the refund of part of the income tax on Hydrocarbons, better known as professional diesel.

The average ASTIC-affiliated company operates around 120 trucks and each of them consumes an average of 4,100 liters of diesel per month, so a bonus of 20 cents means about 100.00 euros per company, while the compensation of almost 5 cents for professional diesel assumes another 25,000 euros.

“The truth is that in the ones we have since 2023 there were no alarming increases in fuel pricesdespite the European veto on Russian diesel and against the predictions of analysts from half the world who predicted a significant increase in its price throughout Europe, but let’s not forget that fuel consumption represents about 40% of the operating costs of a heavy truck,” said Astica’s executive vice president, Ramón Valdivia.

A heavy vehicle can pour up to 1,500 liters of diesel at once and consumes an average of 35 liters per 100 kilometers.
