The coach of the Panama women’s soccer team, the Mexican Ignacio ‘Nacho’ Quintana, defined this Tuesday a group of 20 players for the friendlies against Venezuela on April 5 and 8 in Caracas, which he described as “useful” for his team.
In the invitation of the captain of the Panamanian women’s national team, there are 15 players who play in clubs of the domestic league and five who are in foreign teams.
Wendy Natis, who plays for EC Bahía in Brazil, stands out among the ‘foreigners’; Rebeca Espinosa and Erika Hernández from Colombia’s IFC Palmira, Katherine Castillo from Colombia’s Deportivo Cali and Yarelis Palacio from Diriangen from Nicaragua. The Panamanians will train this Wednesday, and they travel to Venezuela at night.
Quintana pointed out that “these friendlies will be beneficial because practically 90% of the roster is made up of LFF players and it’s an opportunity for revenge.
