51 million dollars approved for the stabilization fund

He Cabinet Council approved the contributions this Tuesday Tariff Stabilization Fund (FET) and for Western Tariff Fund (FTO) for more than $51 million to compensate electric distribution companies for benefits granted to more than one million customers during the second half of 2023.

According to the statement of the Presidency, Government Resolution 23-24 was approved for the inclusion of contributions $36,655,928.50 to the FET to compensate the listed electricity distribution companies for the contributions allocated to 902,194 users with a simple low-voltage (BTS) tariff with a consumption of up to 300 kWh, during – the second half of 2023.

It was clarified that for these clients, the credit on the accounts is between 20% and 38%, depending on consumption.

The government’s resolution 24-24 approving a contribution in the amount of $14,806,172.95to the FTO to compensate Empresa de Distribución Eléctrica Chiriquí SA (EDECHI) for the benefit applied to 185,715 end customers in the area of ​​Almirante, Guabito, Las Tablas, Changuinola and surrounding areas during the months of July to December 2023.

It is detailed that the credit in the invoices of these clients represents between 15% and 40%depending on consumption.

Customers with simple low voltage (BTS) prices present 72% and in the case of FTO they represent 99%.
