Panama is included in the exclusive list of ‘Cities we love’

The Panama City he chose IEEE as one of the five preferred cities to host its events worldwide, cementing its position as an ideal destination for the meetings industry.

“Meet each other in Panama, live for more”, is the message sent by IEEE, the world’s largest professional and technical society that brings together about 427,000 engineers, scientists, technologists and professionals in more than 190 countries.

IEEE highlights Panama as a hub of impressive events, inspiring diversity, modernity and adventure.

“Panama, a mix of cultures and innovations, hosts transformative events. As a business and environmental hub, it is a place where meetings create legacies, foster sustainability and connect cultures,” he noted.

One of IEEE’s significant strengths is its active role in organizing and supporting major events.

With unprecedented participation, they sponsor and co-sponsor more than 900 conferences annually in different parts of the world, providing platforms for the exchange of knowledge, discoveries and technological advancements.

In 2023, Panama was chosen to host IEEE Convene, the exclusive annual meeting for the organization’s conference community, thanks to initiatives such as our Incentive Plan and our Association Leaders Program ambassadors.

IEEE has included Panama in the list of its five favorite cities in the world to celebrate its eventsalong with cities like Washington DC, Portland, Glasgow and Montreal. IEEE highlights Panama as a striking destination that inspires diversity, modernity and adventure.

Panama stands out as a destination for both work and fun; as well as one of the best connected destinations in Latin America, with direct flights from Europe, Asia, North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean.

The costs of marketing, promotion and positioning of Promtur 2023 amounted to a total of 26 million 681 thousand 659 dollars aimed at promoting relations with international associations, promotion, marketing, advertising, public relations and communications in international markets, marketing at international events, promotional materials, training, among others.

Promtur’s actions from January to September 2023 represented 94% of the year-to-date target ($1,294 million), estimating a total economic impact of $1,221 million.

In the same period, it reached 104% of the value of 2019. The priority issuing markets with the best performance were Colombia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Argentina, Canada and Spain.

From February 28 to March 1, Panama is present at a commercial event organized by the Colombian Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies in the city of Bogotá. In the company of 17 national exhibitors, Panama is promoted as an ideal destination for the Colombian and regional market.
