Right back Michael Amir Murillo is not on either the preliminary or provisional 60-man roster for the Nations League Final Four, where the big surprise was the inclusion of goalkeeper John Gunn, who recently signed for New England Revolution II of the Nations League. MLS Next Pro (third league).
As a reminder, Gunn (24) was also part of the Panamanian basketball team in 2018, and played in the FIBA pre-Olympic tournament held in Canada.
Panama, led by coach Thomas Christiansen, has submitted a preliminary roster for the Final Four that will debut against Mexico on March 21 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and which does not include Murillo’s name.
The Panamanian who plays for Olympique was absent from the field due to a muscle injury that occurred on January 21 in the French Cup tournament against Rennes.
By dropping out of the preliminary list, Murillo, in addition to being injured, would not be able to play in the Nations League either.
“From this temporary list (60 players) there will be 23 players who will play in the Final Four,” explains the press release of the Panamanian Football Federation (Fepaput).
