Panama will have Formula 4, a project that is considered the most innovative not only at the level of the country, but also in Central America. The news was greeted with joy by fans of motorsport.
A few days ago, at the FIA Americas Award gala, the official launch of this initiative that seeks to promote motor sports in Panama took place.
Currently, the project, which has been approved by NACAM, is in the category, road course and license certification phase, before moving to the racing phase.
“The fact is that we will have F4 in Panama,” announced the official report in Panama about this project to the disbelief of some fans.
The Formula 4 Executive Team in Panama consists of Jorge Galvéz, Ronald Chang and Ana Massiel Chaperon.
Chang reiterated this through digital platformsThe project is ongoing and consists of several phases.
In addition to the certification, there must be a pilot academy, sports equipment and certified technicians as part of the appropriate requirements.
Who will be able to attend the academies? “You can enter the academy at 15 and there is no age limit,” Chang said.
For his part, Gálvez announced that the same generation 2 cars will be brought in, as well as those from Brazil, Mexico, Spain and the United Kingdom.
“We will have schools, training and eventually we will have races here,” Gálvez pointed out.
As for the model of the Formula 4 car that will be in Panama, it turns out to be the Tatuus F4-T421 GEN 2, a car with a 1.4-liter turbo FIAT Abarth engine that develops 160 horsepower. It integrates a SADEV brand six-speed gearbox.
F4 aims to help young racing drivers from all over the world can take the first step from karting to the world of single-seater racing.
