Paris is in the center of attention in 2024. The French capital is hosting the Olympic Games for the third time (after 1990 and 1924), thus equaling London, the first city to host them three times (1908, 1948 and 2012). .

Therefore, it will be a special year for the so-called City of Light, which, in order to make this Olympic event more notable, wanted to be original by organizing the opening ceremony on the river Seine, and not in the stadium as it has happened so far.

Furthermore, the XXXIII edition of the Olympic Games, which will begin on July 26 and end on August 11, has proposed a program of events that wants to be as close to the public as possible. Thus, beach volleyball will be played at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, archery in the immediate vicinity, in the Home for Invalids, while La Corcordia square will be the scene of breaking, BMX, skateboarding and 3×3 basketball.

From the capital of France to the capital of England. London and its emblematic Wembley Stadium have a star date reserved: June 1, the day of the Champions League final. The capacity for 90,000 spectators and modern equipment, after the renovation in 2007, make this stage one of the best in the world.

Berlin and Miami, big soccer cities

Weeks later, Berlin will take over Wembley and host the finals of Euro 2024. Germany is the country that will host the 24 best European teams competing in the 17th edition of this tournament, which starts on June 14th in Munich and will end a month later on the 14th. July, at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, with a capacity of 75,000 spectators.

In the same dates, from June 20 to July 14, football will also have its place in the United States, the country that organizes the 48th edition of the oldest national tournament in the world, Copa América.

For this occasion, 14 stadiums will host 16 teams from the continent, ten that make up Conmebol and the six best teams from Concacaf (so far Mexico, USA, Jamaica and Panama, and the last two places have not yet been defined).

Other major football events will be held in Dubai, home of the Beach Soccer World Cup, which takes place from February 15 to 25, and in Uzbekistan, the 10th edition of the FIFA Futsal World Cup, featuring 24 teams with five continents.
