Campaign expenses must be registered with an electronic invoice

Companies that provide goods and services for political campaigns, political parties or freely nominated candidates, and which are paid for with public and private funding, are required to document through an electronic invoice.

This is what General Administration for Revenues (DGI), Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF)Decision no. 201-0384, dated January 17, 2024.

Likewise, DGI informs election courtof this requirement for companies that provide goods and services, as well as for political parties and freely nominated candidates, which must be fulfilled in accordance with the provisions established in Article 11 of Law 76 of December 22, 1976 and its amendments.

Furthermore, the resolution, published today, January 23, in official newspapersestablishes that all requests for justification of the exceptional use of fiscal equipment and the electronic billing system of Panama must be submitted to the DGI and must be in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 2 of article 12 of Law 76 of December 22, 1976 and its amendments.
