When will COPA’s Boeing 737-9 be able to fly?

The Civil Aviation Authority of Panama (AAC) monitors the state of the airline’s aircraft Panamanian Aviation Company, SA (Copa Airlines) and temporarily banned all its operations Boeing, model 737-9.

After the incident, the Panamanian authorities received a notice of continued airworthiness to the international community that he issued United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)the competent authority as the state of design and production Airplane Boeing 737-9.

The Panamanian Aviation Company, SA (Copa Airlines) owns 29 brand aircraft Boeing 737-9of which 21 aircraft have the option “Center cabin door stopper”, whereby the said operator immediately upon receipt of notification from the FAA and the manufacturer notified the AAC of the emergency and grounded the described aircraft.

Since last January 7, the AAC has sent its inspectors through the Air Transportation Safety Administration to check the records and inspections that COPA conducts and follow up on the latest actions requested by the FAA and the manufacturer. , to align with the actions that lift the ban.

AAC is waiting for Global AMOC (Alternative Method of Alignment) approved by AUnited States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), for compliance with AD 20224-02-51 and/or any other manufacturer’s document and its country of manufacture and design.

The entity clarified that once Panamanian Aviation Company, SA (Copa Airlines) achieves a level of compliance and documents that work appropriate to the specified aircraft has been completed, may return to service.

A total of 215 of these aircraft are in service worldwide, and in addition United and Alaska AirlinesPanama’s Copa Airlines has them in its fleets.
