Both athletes agreed that large financial resources are not necessary to begin with, what is most needed is persistence and discipline in training in order to achieve a personal goal.

“If you want to compete in this big sporting event, you need to define your race pace and speed strategy; also train your nutrition and hydration, especially because of the high temperatures in Panama in the month of February and if you’re going to do it for the first time, I think it’s more important to get to the finish line in an optimal way and really enjoy the competition, not to go faster to the finish line, because the pressure can be detrimental to your resistance,” commented Rina Aguirre , director of Ironman 70.3 Championship of Panama Latin America for three clubs.
