It is like the Olympics of sports that are not included in The Olympics,” Acosta said.

Acosta recently represented the country in the Andes mountain range in Mérida, Venezuela at the Olympic Pan American Duathlon Championships (10km run, 40km bike ride with 750m climb and finishes with a 5km run). In the end, he finished the course in 2:03:27.

The stage was located at 1400 meters above sea level, where the temperature was 32 degrees and there were many mountains during the tour. the athlete assured.

Furthermore, Acosta assures that another aspect that was complicated for him was the departure time, which was late and they started at 11:00 a.m., and the competition ended for him at 1:00 p.m.

The athlete pointed out that he won fifth place in the elite category, and he was first in the U23 category. “This earned me some points for the duathlon world rankings which were updated today and I’m ranked 14th in the world,”

“For this event, I had to spend a month in Bogotá, Colombia, so that I could better acclimatize to the altitude and thus arrive at the competition in better physical condition, which was very strong.

Those were days of a lot of work, but with the help of my coaches Billy Gordon, Armando Abaunza, my team and my mother, I was able to carry out these preparations.
