CAI from La Chorrera (Panama) have had a good year, will continue with their international commitments and will have to wait until this Wednesday (tomorrow) for the draw to find out their opponent in the 2024 Concacaf Cup (Concachampions).
The eleventh Chorrerano, coached by Franklin Narváez, earned the right to participate in the Conchachampions by reaching the semifinals of the last Central American Cup in 2023.
In the draw that will take place tomorrow at 19:00 in Miami.
Concachampions will be played between February and June 2024, there are 27 clubs, 22 will play the first stage (elimination).
The other 5 clubs that are seeded in the round of 16 are: Alajuelense (Champion of the Central American Cup), Robinhood (Champion of the Caribbean Cup), Inter Miami CF (Champion of the League Cup 2023), Pachuca (Champion of the Liga MX 2022/23 with the most accumulated points ) and Columbus Crew (winner of the 2023 MLS Cup).
Two groups have been determined for the draw, Pot 1: Philadelphia Union, Deportivo Toluca, CD Guadalajara, Orlando City SC, Nashville SC, FC Cincinnati, New England Revolution and Houston Dynamo FC. Pot 2: Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Deportivo Saprissa, St. Louis CITY SC, CS Herediano, Comunicaciones FC, CAI Independiente, Cavalry FC, Forge FC, Real Estelí FC, Moca FC and Cavalier FC.
