Panama International Marathon, big duels are expected

Runners from more than 10 countries will participate this Sunday in the 47th version of the competition Panama International Marathon which will go from the Miramar Hotel to the foothills Amad’s passager, will return taken according to Old Panama and return to the starting point.

At 21 kilometers in 2022, González won with a time of 1:11:10.08, followed by Elkis Mena with 1:11:38.37, and third was Kenyan Joel Kiptanui, who recorded a time of 1:14:41.17. Then Javier Cortés and Christopher Jurado arrived.

While there would be a Colombian in the women’s division Alexander Aldan, who won last year’s edition with a time of 1:19:35.39, the second place went to the Venezuelan Valentina Peña with a time of 1:29:27.17, Daniela Araujo with 1:30:20.61 and Ana López with 1:31:37.66.

Jorge Castelblanco won last year’s edition Panama International Marathon With a time of 2 hours 21 minutes and 48 seconds, he achieved a record of 2:27:07:97 in 2021.

After Castelblanco Panamanian Moisés Gutiérrez, Mexican Gabriel Bouchot with 2:41:59, Kenyan Timothy Kemboi with 2:43:43 and Costa Rican Jason Villalobos with 2:53:37 reached the finish line.

For her part, Williana Rojas, winner of the women’s division with a time of 3:10:13, will be absent this year, while Jenny SanHouse will compete in the relays and Carmen Villarreal who was on the podium confirmed.

Departure Panama International Marathon, sponsored Seiko It will be at 4:30 in the morning, while those who run 21 kilometers will start at 6:10, followed by teams participating in relays consisting of six runners over a distance of 30 kilometers.
