The first Women’s Football Festival in the entire country was successfully completed, on a tour in which 349 girls from 6 to 12 years of age participated.
The women’s soccer festival was held on different dates, in hard-to-reach communities in the provinces of Coclé, Los Santos, Darién and closed in the province of Bocas del Toro. A total of 349 girls enjoyed these sports meetings, gaining new knowledge and experiences in this sport.
This festival sought to promote equal access to football and the talent and development of football at the local level, especially among the new generations. In addition to providing greater promotion of women’s football in the communities.
From now on, the girls participating in the festival will be able to enter the system of provincial, municipal and district leagues, which form the basis for the U-14 and U-16 amateur tournaments, thus continuing this project.
“At Arcos Dorados, we have always felt a great duty to support the community. Our alliance with Fepafut allows us to continue to contribute to the development of sports in Panama in new generations and offer participants a sense of community and new leisure opportunities. “It’s about providing a level playing field for everyone, so we help build stronger communities.” Said Loney Armijo, director of Arcos Dorados Panama.
Soccer clinics around the country were accompanied by specialized coaches, who enriched the girls’ experience during these months.
In this way, Arcos Dorados reaffirms its commitment to daily work to contribute in a positive way and with an impact on Panamanian families, especially
through sport, which is extremely important for all Panamanians.
