Panamanian gymnastics is going for another Olympic quota

With the main goal of securing second place for the 2024 Paris Olympics, NoLimits Gymnastics Panama members Hillary Heron, Karla Navas and Lana Herrera are traveling from Belgium to Brazil to continue their training plan ahead of the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.

Heron has just booked her ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics, thanks to her excellent performance at the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Antwerp, from where she will travel to Rio de Janeiro this Monday in the company of Navas and Herrera to join club teammates Valentina Brostella and Celia Kuriakuz, who make up the Panamanian team that will play in the Pan American Games starting on October 20 next year.

The Panamanian gymnastics team will be in Brazil from the 9th to the 16th of this month, preparing alongside NoLimits Gymnastics Panama Olympic coaches, Carlos Gil and Yareimi Vázquez, key players in achieving these goals.

After participating in Belgium, Karla Navas said that she is very close to her goal (qualifying for Paris 2024) and that she must now focus on the Pan American Games in order to achieve it.

“I felt super good in the competition, happy and calm, and super happy with my results, little things I needed to improve, but the rest was very good,” explained Navas.

For her part, Lana Herrera explained that the World Cup was a very good experience and left her with a lot of learning.

“It is true that it will be my first World Championship, I am very satisfied with the work done, I am always looking for more and I am still improving and preparing for what comes next, which is the Pan American Games, a competition in which we still have the possibility of winning. one more place at the Olympic Games”.
