He National Bank of Panama presented this Monday its new line of sustainable products, among which credits for solar panels stand out.
The entity works on specialized products that promote the use of technologies that reduce the impact on the environment and fulfill a product profile that differs both for its interest rate and pollution reduction characteristics.
“Our first proposal is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that seek to improve the planet, such as number 7 (affordable and clean energy), number 13 (climate action) and 15 (life in terrestrial ecosystems), among others. In addition to number 11, which has to do with sustainable cities and communities. These are new personal loans for residential solar panels,” said Javier Carrizo Equivel, General Manager National Bank of Panama.
The maximum amount of this type of loan is up to $25,000.00 with a term of up to 10 years.
“To ensure the viability of the project, there will be a list of vendor companies approved to finance this product on our website,” said Carrizo Esquivel.
The bank claims that with this product line it reinforces its commitment to compliance with ESG/ASG (Environmental, Social and Governance) criteria that ensure the sustainability and future sustainability of the company.
Solar panels create multiple benefits for society and the environment, such as: reducing greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to the fight against climate change and improving air quality.
It also avoids the frequent use of non-renewable energy, creating savings reduce the monthly cost of electricityit can represent an excess credit on the electricity bill and increases the value of the property.
The average lifespan of solar panels is about 25 years, depending on proper maintenance of the equipment components.
According to the bank, it will gradually introduce its other sustainable credit products, for the benefit of society and the environment.
