South America, the market with the most movement in Tocumen in June

Tocumen International Airport maintains direct routes to 86 destinations, via 16 commercial airlines that offer service to major American and European cities during the month of June.

Last month’s results show that of the total number of passengers who used the terminal Tokumen, 67% were connecting passengers. In addition, 11,401 aircraft movements were managed.

According to the data of the Bureau of Statistics tokumen, the markets with the largest regional movement in June were South America, with 44%; followed by North America, with 28% and the Caribbean with 12%.

For its part, Central America contributed 10%, and European markets contributed with a 5% share.

In the first half of this year, the airport handled 8,583,426 passengers, i.e. 1,277,239 passengers more than in the same period of 2022.

In June, the country’s main airport handled 1,441,346 passengers and transported 17,646 metric tons of cargo.

Raffoul Arab, General Manager of Tocumen International Airport, described these results as positive so far this year.

“The indicators for June 2023 confirm positive industry trendwith constant and strong growth compared to the first half of 2022 and higher than the highest historical record of the number of passengers from 2019 for the same period”, he stated.

As for the cargo terminal, 99,854 metric tons of goods were mobilized during the first six months of 2023.

On the other hand, the regional terminals of Panama Pacifico, Enrique Malek, Scarlett Martínez and Enrique A. Jiménez, managed by Tocumen SA, recorded a traffic of 366,354 passengers and 12,033 aircraft operations during the first half of this year.

Among them, the biggest change was recorded by Panama Pacifico with 203,205 passengers processed so far in 2023. While the domestic terminal operating at Terminal 2 processed 90,749 passengers.
