Panamanians ready for their debut at the golf tournament in San Diego

Representation Panama, composed of 10 promising golfers, competes from this Tuesday, July 11, in one of the most important youth tournaments in the world: IMG Academy World Junior Championships in San Diego, California, United States.

Since it is Association from San Diego Junior Golf founded this tournament in 1968, it has grown to today has 1250 participants from 56 countries and 42 states of the USA, becoming the largest international event in the world and unique in its international representation and cultural diversity.

The golfers representing us were selected based on their performance and results on the APAGOLF SUB18 Junior Tour 2022-2023. they are Gabriela González, Alessandra Arango, Samuel Durán and Emilio Bonilla andn category 15-18 years; for 9-10 years, Juan Raúl Boyd and Aurelio Gómez; in 11-12 years, Ricardo Arango and Felipe Duncan and in 13-14 years: Oscar Espino and Pablo Brenes.

Durán will see action from 7:30 am, in a group made up of Paraguayans Matias Koropeski and Americans Shiv Parthe sea and Colin Lee, on the Torrey Pines – South Course. Bonilla, for his part, is in the company of a Thai manwith Sivawong Aukrawat and Matthew Diehl and Aiden Tieyou, both of you NOW, from 1:20 p.m.

In the women’s 15-18 category, González goes up against the Mexican Miranda Garcia and the American tyler wilczek, starting at 9:09 a.m. on the Torrey Pines – North Course. Arango does it at 12:23 p.m., in the company of Thai Valencia Chan and American Addiley Lloyd.

At Shadowridge GC, in the 9-10 age group, Raul Boyd plays alongside Scott Tian, ​​from NOW and Mariano Maldonado Magaldi, of Mexico, at 9:27 Gómez does it at 10:12, with Weijian Lu, of Canada, and Amar’e Bautista, of NOW.

In the category from 11 to 12 years old, on the field Morgan Run Resort and Club, Duncan starts at 8:15 a.m., in a group with Americans Chase Bachelet and Alejandro Sebastian Fischer; while Arango does so at 8:24 a.m., with Francisco de Asis Torres, of Colombia, and Enzo Taylor, of NOW.

In the 13-14 division, at Arrowood Golf Course, Espino hits his tee shot at 7:43 a.m. along with Canada’s Jim Zhu and Canada’s Keita Yobiko. NOW. Brenes does it at 1:12 p.m. in the company of Americans Arjun Somani and Jake Williams.

Representation of Panama, supported by the Association Panama Golf joins other delegations from 56 countries that will fight for the primacy of world golf in categories from 6 to 18 years, in women’s and men’s competition.
