Miviot will present a preferential interest account

He cabinet council authorized the minister Housing and territorial planning (Miviot), Rogelio Paredespresent National Assembly a bill establishing a regime of preferential interest on mortgage loans.

The bill establishes coverage for 100% preferential interest rates for houses worth up to 45 thousand dollars.

In addition, interest segments are included in home and condo loans with recorded values ​​at the time of financing in the range of $45,000 to $150,000.

On the other hand, the Council authorized the Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucrepresent to the National Assembly a bill establishing a regulatory framework for activities related to organ transplantation for therapeutic purposes in Panama.

According to Sucre, the current law lacks mechanisms that lead to obtaining more donors for therapeutic purposes, and it is important to strengthen new behavior to promote and spread the culture of organ donation.

Among its goals, the initiative aims to guarantee the human dignity of organ donors and recipients, regulating fundamental rights and ethical principles that influence the achievement of such a guarantee, such as voluntariness, altruism, confidentiality, non-profitability, free and fair, as well as the right to life, i.e. protection, health , confidentiality and protection of personal data.

The bill also promotes social participation in the activities of donating anatomical components, in order to respond to the needs of the country. The proposal has been discussed for more than five years, and its content is the product of the consensus of all involved sectors.

On the other hand, as part of the country’s energy transition program, the Government approved the National Strategy for Green Hydrogen and Derivatives of Panama (ENHIVE) and creates Panama Interinstitutional Committee for Green Hydrogen and Derivatives (CIHIVE)in order to carry out the necessary tasks for its adoption and implementation, with the support of public institutions, universities, companies and associations of the private sector.

This national strategy seeks to facilitate the use of green hydrogen derivatives in maritime and air transport, becoming the “hub” of sustainable energy in the short, medium and long term.

It also seeks to position Panama as a global route for green hydrogen and its derivatives, improving its geographic location and infrastructure to supply the logistics, domestic, maritime, air and land transport sectors with renewable energy, while developing capabilities that enable the establishment of a market innovator of this energy sector in the country.
