Equestrian sports continue to bring medals to Panama, yesterday the pair of Victoria Heurtematte, together with Scarlett du Sart Z, won a silver medal at the Palmarejo Equestrian Center in the Dominican Republic, a sub-venue of the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games.
The silver medal was won by Heurtematte in the individual cumulative championship, it was the second medal for this duo at these 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games, the first was a gold medal.
We must also highlight the performance of Marissa Thompson, who along with the exemplary Gladys, like Heurtematta, managed to qualify for the Pan American Games in Santiago 2023 in Chile.
Another Panamanian who won silver was Gianna Woodruff in the 400m hurdles.
For his part, Alonso Edward managed to win a bronze medal in the 200 meter race with a time of 20.46 seconds.
While Karoline Castillo won bronze in taekwondo at -49.
Another bronze in taekwondo is Carolena Carsten in the -57 kg category.
At press time, Panama has 5 gold, 6 silver and 11 bronze medals for a total of 22 metals at the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games.
