Fried chicken and sweets, a favorite order of Panamanians

Fried chicken has become one of the foods that Panamanians consume the most in different ways, whether grilled, baked or stewed.

According to information from PedidosY, Panama had a consumption growth of 7% during the first quarter of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022. The biggest fans of this dish are people from the capital Chorrero and Chiricanos.

In addition, the data also revealed that there has been an increase in users ordering various dishes that include chicken through the platform, showing a growth of 3% in the same period, where well-known chains restaurants fast food are places that users prefer when it comes to enjoying this food.

However, this dish is not eaten alone, in Panama it is preferred with an accompaniment, and the favorite accompaniments are sweet breads, natural chicha and French fries. As for sauces or dressings, favorites are tartare, honey mustard and BBQ.

The consumption of these foods increases on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and the largest number of orders is recorded during lunch and dinner.

International Fried Chicken Day is celebrated on July 6, a date that reminds us of the importance of this delicious culinary creation.
