Etesa: Interconnected system expansion plan progress

Ongoing projects that are part of Plan for the expansion of the national interconnected system (Pesin) from Electric Transmission Company S. A (Etesa)They represent a high level of progress.

This was announced by the general manager of that state-owned company, Eng Carlos Mosquera-Castillo who pointed out that among them i The fourth electricity transmission line projectwhich currently shows 90% progress in the design phase, and the tender documents are duly reviewed by the governing body.

It was announced that the Pešin projects include: both transmission system asset replacement projects, as well as new substation and transmission line projects that provide support for the growth of demand and production in the country.

General director of the company Etesa he explained that Pešin-involves in the short term the development and construction of at least 30 projects that are progressing “at a good pace, and adapted to the dynamics”.

He added that he has 56% progress in implementation projects, a 64% progress in those in the bidding process ia 59%in the design phase.

With Pešin projects under development, which include new transmission lines and substations that will be interconnected with Panamanian transmission system, four energy corridors are being established that will enable the strengthening of the matrix of renewable energy sources while connecting future projects for the production of renewable energy sources throughout the country. These new energy corridors are:

Northern corridor – center: new 230 kV Sabanitas – Panama III TL and associated substations.

Corridor west – east: formed by the future Fourth transmission line built at 500 kV and which in its initial phase operated at 230 kV, which will connect the new Chiriquí Grande substation to SE Panama III.

Corridor Azuero: consists of the future 230 kV transmission line La Huaca – Los Olivos and the new substations La Huaca and Los Olivos.

east corridor: formed by the new transmission line 230 kV Panama II – Chepo and SE Chepo.

“All Pešin’s projects are necessary and important in order to guarantee that the transmission of electricity, from production centers to consumer centers, takes place safely and reliably, in accordance with the required quality requirements,” said the director of Etese, during a meeting with their engineering teams.
