Countdown for local communities to seek help for energy efficiency

Author: Sandra Alonso

The mandate expires in October, but managers warn that numerous procedures are needed and there is a shortage of reform companies

A few days ago, the Xunta opened a call for the distribution of 43 million euros from European funds The next generation, between communities of owners to undertake projects to improve the energy efficiency of buildings. The deadline for their submission is October 2, but the Official College of Property Managers of Galicia is urging residents to hurry and prepare to claim them as soon as possible. Because? because they must comply many prerequisites and perform various procedures beforehand. The main thing is to call a meeting and have the approval of at least 60% of the owners and ask energy efficiency certificatefor which it will be necessary to hire a fitter.

This is just the beginning of a series of cumbersome procedures, among which is the High School for Managers request for a bank loan to cover the worksunless the community has sufficient resources, which is not usual, according to the entity.

But one of the main barriers to accessing these aids is getting a reform the company let him work. The sector is collapsing, the faculty warns, “due to the high demand for jobs and the lack of manpower and materials.” The entity points out that ” lack and high cost of building materialswhich mainly affects wood, stone, copper, sandwich panels, slate, steel and iron, could interfere with actions, so it is advisable to hurry up to report »on the call for help.

Asset managers signed an agreement last year with the Galician Council of Quantity Surveyors and Technical Architects to facilitate the processing of these subsidies for associates. It also collaborates with other construction and engineering companies, such as Teuvento Passivhaus and Stechome, to streamline procedures.

Much of this collapse of reform companies is happening because many are already working for communities that participated in last year’s call. Traffic congestion is also passed on to the administration, and it took months for Xunti to both resolve claims and pay subsidies to communities.

If the request is accepted, another race begins with time to carry out and justify the works on the buildings within a maximum of 18 months.
