Current revenues show a shortfall of $428 million since May

Current income statement Ministry of Economy and Finance (MPEG) reflect a deficit of $428.4 million from January to May compared to the 2023 state budget.

It is worth noting that the accumulated current income as of May 2023 totaled $2386.5 million. Against the previous year shows a drop of 292.9 million dollars. Tax revenues make up 81% of total current revenues.

For the month of May 2023 current income reflect a total of $478.2 million. Of this, 353.5 million dollars refers to the collection of tax revenues, 121.8 million dollars to non-tax revenues and 2.9 million dollars to other current revenues.

Compared to the legal budget, current revenues for the month of May 2023 show a deficit of 64.7 million dollars. However, compared to the previous year, they represent an increase of 8.5 million dollars, it is stated in MEF.

The tax revenues reflect the deficit of 43.9 million dollars compared to the budget target. On the other hand, they represent an increase of 15.2 million dollars compared to the previous year. Non-tax revenues did not reach the budget goal with 7 million dollars less. Other current income shows a deficit of 13.7 million dollars compared to state budget.

The collection of tax revenues in May 2023 is 353.5 million dollars, which shows a deficit of 43.9 million dollars, or 11.1 percent less compared to the budget. Compared to the collection in the same period last year, it increased by 15.2 million dollars, or 4.5 percent more. Direct taxes reflect a deficit of $17.4 million compared to the budget. The indirect taxes they reported a deficit of 26.6 million dollars compared to the budget law.

Sum of non-taxable income 121.8 million dollars, which represents a deficit of 7.1 million dollars compared to the budget law. Rates, fees and others represent a shortfall compared to the budget target of 28.3%.

The profit participation and contribution showed a surplus of 93.2% compared to the budget. The others current income 2.9 million dollars shows a deficit of 82.5 percent compared to the state budget.

In the accumulated until May 2023 non-taxable income there is a deficit of 26% compared to the budget law. Accumulated non-tax revenues in profit shares and contributions showed a surplus of 19.6%. They also recorded an increase of 8.8% compared to the previous year.
