Swimmers from 22 countries at Oceanman 2023

More than 500 swimmers from 22 countries They will meet on July 1 and 2 at the second edition of OceanMan Panama 2023, as announced yesterday by Arnulfo Ábrego, the event director.

The competition that allocates quotas for World Championship in December in Phuket, Thailandwill have as a stage Playa de las Banderas, at the entrance to the Amador Causeway.

Sports director Oceanman Esteban Visuetti, He said that the safety of all participants is guaranteed during the two days of the competition, and assistance with boats, jet skis and paddle board personnel has already been arranged.

The first version was won by female swimmers Panamanians Jeancarlo Calderón Harper and María Meneses González, at a distance of 10,000 meters.

Calderon Harper, he swam the distance with a time of 2 hours, 05 minutes and 41 seconds. Meneses González, who achieved a record of 2 hours, 47 minutes and 03 seconds

The second place in the men’s category went to Daniel Andrés Ortega with time of 2:10:06, and Panamanian Armando José Abaunza came in third

While at a distance of 5000 meters, the best two were the Venezuelan Erick Martínez with a time of 1 hour 06 minutes and 19 seconds, followed by Panamanian Diego Castillo with with a record of 1:06:23 of the StvTriTeam team and climbed to the podium in third place. Carlos Menafra who crossed the road in 1:10:21.
