They train new talent for the electricity sector

The Electric Transmission Company, SA (Etesa) is working on the creation of a training and training center, the goal of which is aimed at training personnel for the national power sector, in the field of high voltage and dispatching electricity.

The project is called High Voltage High Voltage Training Center (CEFOSAT) and is managed by the current manager of Etese, Carlos Mosquera Castillo.

The initiative is aimed at providing continuous training and retraining for the company’s employees, as well as providing technical training opportunities for young graduates. professional and technical institutesas well as university students to complete their studies and practice in the field of high voltage in the company.

The CEFOSAT project is in the phase of conception, curricular development of training plans and educational infrastructure for the certification of a higher education center for the third level of education by the Ministry of Education (Meduca).

It is important to emphasize that the success of this project is based on cooperation agreements signed with the National Institute for Vocational Training and Training for Human Development (Inadeh) and Technological University of Panama (UTP) from 2020. On the other hand, Etesa, as a company with extensive experience in the sector, will share the knowledge of its professional staff in the classrooms of its future Training Center.

It is also expected to sign an agreement on cooperation with Panama Society of Engineers and Architects (SPIA) and the Instituto Técnico Superior Especializado (ITSE), to supplement the training with the courses it offers and guarantee that those who successfully complete the technical work training can opt for the appropriate renewable temporary licenses for each trade and/or specialty, issued by the Technical Board of Engineers and Architects ( JTIA).

CEFOSAT will be located behind the substation Panama II of Etese in Pedregaland will have five hectares of land for the establishment of infrastructure and the development of space for work, teaching and training in appropriate and safe conditions.
