Antonio Garamendi on the impact of artificial intelligence on employment: “We must not open up the field”

Garamendi emphasized that the needs of companies for growth have changed in the world of digitization, where “Many more jobs” are missing than the 100,000 calculated by Eurostat.

“We are talking about almost 130,000 jobs in Spain,” noted the business leader, who stressed that, according to Telefónica’s estimates, another 25,000 workers will be missing for cybersecurity jobs.

In this regard, he defended that the key to employment in Spain is training, which must be constant and continuous throughout the working life, and in which dual training must play a leading role, “which is an unresolved issue in Spain”.
