Arenal and Druni join forces forming the largest perfumery group in Spain. The Vázquez Marzán family, at the head of the Lugo company, will continue to be shareholders, following the Portuguese group Sonae MC, and Rafael Marzán will be one of the directors of the new group.
Sonae MC and the founding shareholders of Druni signed an agreement to merge the operations of Druni and Arenal, creating the leading operator of beauty and wellness in Spainwith an approximate turnover of 800 million euros and almost 500 stores.

Sonae MC is the owner of Continente and a leader in the food sector in Portugal, with a highly relevant portfolio in the health, wellness and beauty segment, which includes Wells, a parapharmacy, beauty and optical retailer with 300 stores in Portugal, as well as a majority stake in Arenal, among other businesses. Sonae MC traffic has been reached 6,000 million euros in 2022.
sand bank is also a Galician company for perfumery, cosmetics and parapharmacy with a network of 70 stores is located in the north and west of Spain. Founded in 1975 by the Vázquez family, Arenal is 60% owned by MC and 40% by its founding shareholders as of January 2019, achieving a turnover of 192 million euros in 2022. The company is headquartered in the O Ceao industrial zone in Lugo.
druni is a company for the retail sale of perfumery, cosmetics and parapharmacy with a network of approx 400 stores in Spain, which is mainly located in the communities of Valencia, Catalonia and Madrid, and is a rapidly expanding online channel. It was founded in 1987 by the current shareholders, the Casp family. In 2022, Druni achieved a turnover of approximately EUR 575 million.
In particular, the combination of the companies Druni and Arenal will accelerate the growth plan of these companies in physical and online channelsthe complementarity of its network of stores and a management team with solid experience in the sector, which integrates it, Rafael Marzán Vázquez, the current CEO of Arenal, and where Bernardo Casp will be the CEO of the Group resulting from the operation.

Arenal plans to continue its expansion plan this year where he has already made four openings and has two immediate openings in Castro Urdiales (the fifth store in Cantabria) and another opening in the province of Badajoz, in a well-known location in the city where Cristiano Ronaldo planned to open a gym and will arouse great expectations in the city of Badajoz, but in the end it will be Arenal. In the second half of the year, 4 more openings are planned (Ribeira, Pontevedra, San Sebastián and one more to be specified), and it is expected to close in 2023 with 75 stores and a turnover of 230 million euros.
