The elections speed up the time for execution of European funds

The government hopes to send an addendum to the Recovery Plan to Brussels this week

According to the latest implementation report, published in February, Spain would have implemented 75% of the European funds provided for in the 2021 and 2022 budgets, while there would be 90% of approved loans and 81% approved. In addition, according to Economy, the distribution of these funds would accelerate significantly in the first quarter of 2023, with more than 10.757 million approved, almost 40% of the 28.692 budgeted for the whole year. The government spent months holding meetings with autonomous governments, parliamentary groups and social workers to prepare Addendum to the Recovery Plan, which will mobilize an additional 7,700 million in transfers and 84,000 in loans, which will be added to the 70,000 from the first phase of the Plan. At the end of the year, the minister Nadia Calvino He presented the first draft of this supplement, which the executive continues to work on to approve its final and official version next Tuesday and send it to Brussels.
