The incident with the tanker is the fifth of its kind since the beginning of the year, and it happened ten days after the container ship XIN HAI TONG 23 sailing under the flag of Hong Kong ran aground, due to which traffic in the Suez Canal was suspended for several hours.

Although not all of them interrupted traffic in the channel, these incidents reminded of the crisis experienced between March 23 and 29, 2021, when the container ship Ever Given with its 400 meters in length and 18,000 containers on board blocked the sea passage. it caused a big traffic jam on this route, through which about 10% of the world’s goods pass.
