‘I was an absolute lunatic’: Bruce Willis’ wife told how her youngest daughter supported her after the actor’s terrible diagnosis

The Hollywood macho ended his dazzling career last year due to health problems. Bruce was diagnosed with aphasia, which led to a deterioration in his language skills. He was later diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. Willis’ two families have come together to support him during his difficult time. The actor has three daughters with Demi Moore, with whom he was married from 1987 to 2000 – 34-year-old Rumer, 31-year-old Scout and 29-year-old Tallulah. He has two more daughters from his marriage to Emma Heming – 11-year-old Mabel Ray and 9-year-old Evelyn.

Today, the 44-year-old wife of the artist shared an emotional story about how the youngest daughter accepted the news of the star father’s illness. The girl was looking for information on how to help her father with health problems. “I have to tell you this story, and I’m going to try to do it without tears, because when Evelyn told it, I was absolutely crazy,” Heming said.

The schoolgirl discovered that people living with dementia can suffer from severe dehydration. The mother asked the girl how she knew, and she replied that she looked up the facts about the disease during the school holidays. “Now it’s not funny, but it’s kind of funny, and she really is her father’s daughter, because these two love random facts,” said the artist’s wife.

Emma let Evelyn know that she was proud of her empathy and her actions during difficult times. “It was so beautiful and I was really moved. I told my daughter, ‘Thank you for letting me know. The kindest and most compassionate thing you can do is to be curious and learn more about your father’s illness,'” Bruce’s fiancee said.

Heming stressed the importance of caregivers, friends and family knowing everything about their loved one’s illness so they can best support them. That’s what dementia expert Adria Thompson told her when Willis was diagnosed. “So keep learning, stay curious and don’t forget to give water to your loved ones,” Emma was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

A film hero’s wife is speaking out for those suffering from dementia despite her husband’s ongoing health problems. Last week she attended a screening of the documentary “Empty Boxes” by best-selling author Max Lugareve, whose mother has the same condition. She also shed light on her own experience dealing with her husband’s illness, noting how “little options” those suffering from the terminal illness have. By the way, Bruce Willis recently became a grandfather for the first time.
