The disgraced couple of the British monarchy returned to the high life after the coronation of Charles III. The 41-year-old Duchess and the 38-year-old Duke of Sussex were guests at the Women of Vision Awards gala in New York. Accompanying the couple on the red carpet was Doria Ragland, Megan’s mother.
Prince Harry’s wife didn’t try to look great in her finest hour. Her outfit in the style of Golden Hollywood cost 12 thousand dollars (960 thousand rubles), not including some valuable jewelry. In keeping with the evening’s feminist theme, Meghan opted for a $1,850 gown by Colombian women’s label Johanna Ortiz.
This quilted midi outfit is made from gold fabric with a sweetheart neckline, a sexy underbust neckline and a slit in the front of the skirt. The Duchess decided to redo the dress and remove the straps that were originally part of the design to better emphasize her California flair. To match the outfit, the former king chose $1,350 Tom Ford stiletto sandals. It has thin ankle straps, a key and a padlock. Meghan clutched an elegant $1,100 Carolina Herrera Metropolitan Insignia clutch in the same gold hue.
The wife of the heir to the British throne has shown her love of jewelery by wearing “all the best at once”. She wore an engagement ring and the famous three diamond ring that Prince Harry gave to celebrate his engagement. Several bracelets added even more charm at once – one with a scattering of large diamonds, the other – Cartier Love worth $7,350. The third Cartier bracelet on Meghan’s hand once belonged to Princess Diana and is estimated to be worth between $18,000 and $150,000. To complete the look, Markle accessorized her look with a pair of J. Crew earrings with large clear stones around the hoop, reports the Daily Mail.
Prince Harry looked unassuming next to his stunning wife. He was wearing a dark gray suit, a white shirt with a blue tie, and patent leather shoes. Doria Ragland also chose not to overshadow her daughter. She opted for a simple black dress with ruffled sleeves, matching peep-toe shoes and simple silver jewellery.
American feminist icon Gloria Steinem introduced Megan on stage. Organizers of the event noted that the Duchess of Sussex received the award for “a lifetime of advocacy for women and girls”.
