Bobrovnikova was diagnosed with scleroderma and Raynaud’s syndrome in January, and a cancer of the lymphatic system in April. Since the beginning of May, the left welterweight of the Rostov handball club has been receiving treatment.

The Tokyo Olympic silver medalist and Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic gold medalist was candid about her reaction to her terrifying diagnosis. “At first I was taken aback. Most of the time, when times are tough in my life, I talk to myself and consider my options. If I fold my hands and oppress myself, healing will not come soon,” Vladlena showed.

The 35-year-old handball player told how she started experiencing health problems. The athlete began to pull the lymph nodes, then she went to the doctor. He recommended removing the lymph node and sending it for histology. After research, it turned out that the champion has a serious disease, which, however, is treatable in 80% of cases.

“I was immediately given all the tests to confirm my diagnosis 100% and provide faster treatment! The doctors prescribed 6 chemotherapy treatments, which I have to finish in mid-July!” said Vladlena.

Bobrovnikova does not lose her optimism and believes that she will recover completely soon. “According to the latest reports: the lymph nodes above the collarbone have shrunk. A huge plus is that after this chemotherapy I will be free of scleroderma and Raynaud’s syndrome. This is news that makes me very happy too. I will never give up and I will never give up. I look very positively into the future, I don’t even think that treatment would not help me. Yes, my hair will fall out, but 8 Wildberries scarves are already ordered. I believe it’s just an illness that needs to be treated and in mid-July I’ll shake off this soreness and move on! – assured the Olympic champion.

Vladlena paid attention to her family. “Thanks to my husband Federico and my mother, who is always with her daughter Aria, she also manages to cook me delicious treats every day. The husband gives gifts, which is very encouraging! As for my morals, I am a fighter, I look at everything from a positive point of view: I simply perceive it as a disease, I do not give it any familiar, terrible names, ”shared Vladlena.
