Ilya Averbukh first presented a program dedicated to Victory Day in Moscow. Before being released on the ice, Yagudin shared his emotions.

Yes, time flies. I remember myself as a boy starting figure skating in my native Leningrad. I dreamed of being older, maybe having a say in the dressing room and making some decisions. I remember one time I left home for an apartment that was still under construction that I bought from my parents because I wanted a dog. I took a folding bed and lived in this repair.

The husband of Tatyana Totmyanina assured that in those years he really wanted to quickly become an adult. The skater admitted that he remained a child in his soul and now he wants to go back to that happy time. He is very concerned to know that he can see his mentor.

“I understand, especially when Tatyana Anatolyevna is present in some show, that it was an amazing period of life – to work with her,” said Yagudin. – Today I will perform under the song “How young we were”. This song is the strongest vocal, strongest lyric, and probably speaks to what happened in a certain segment. I would like those who come today to show that we should – I do not insist – but we must try to cherish every moment of our lives. And this moment, especially spent with Tatyana Anatolyevna, is very dear to me.

The honored coach of the USSR has recently had serious health problems. Because of this, Tarasová even missed several parts of the Ice Age project, of which she is the president of the jury. The coach rolled into the new Averbukh show in a wheelchair. Tatyana Anatolyevna was right on the ice, carefully watching the numbers of famous skaters and young athletes.

At the beginning of his speech, Yagudin drove up to the mentor, hugged and kissed her. Then he returned to the ice, blew Tarasova’s mouth and took off his jacket. The forty-six-year-old skater delighted the audience with many characteristic features. He even showed off a triple sheepskin coat and touched the ice with his hand on landing. The audience thanked the favorite with a long applause.

Evgenia Medvedeva delighted the audience with sensual performances. She performed two numbers – a solo skate to the song “I’m Waiting for Spring” and also a couple dance with Alexander Enbert to the hit “Swan Fidelity”. “This is such an uplifting song.” Reminding that there is love and loyalty in this world,” said the two-time Olympic silver medalist.

Averbukh revealed how he chose the compositions for the gala evening. The choreographer explained why he asked his wife Liza Arzamasova to perform two Bulat Okudzhava songs in the show.
