Members of the royal family are preparing for the coronation of Charles III, which will take place on May 6. On the eve of the historic event, the bright couple of the British monarchy visited London’s West End to check how it was prepared for the holiday weekend.
Kate Middleton chose an airy white Suzannah midi dress with flirty ruffles on the hem. Over it she wore a bright red coat from Eponine London, which was made to order for her. The image of the royal person was completed by white stiletto shoes and a matching Mulberry handbag. From jewelry, the Princess of Wales chose Maria Black earrings with pearls.
The couple took the Elizabeth Line train from Acton to Tottenham Court Road. The journey turned out to be a subtle tribute to the late queen, after whom the subway line is named. Elizabeth II officially opened it last May, four months before her death. It was one of the last public appearances of Prince William’s crowned grandmother. The line runs from Reading in Berkshire and Heathrow Airport in West London to Shenfield in Essex and Abby Wood in South East London. After getting off at the station, Kate and William walked into the center of Soho. The Prince and Princess of Wales were in high spirits as they visited the local Dog and Duck pub.
Piano fans gathered on the street in large crowds to briefly greet members of the royal family. The couple heard from staff how the pub and surrounding area are preparing for Coronation weekend and met representatives from other hospitality and leisure businesses in Soho.
Kate Middleton has made an unusual statement about the upcoming events, hinting that she is tired of the preparations and fuss. “Yes, it will be a busy time. We’re getting close to that. I feel like we’re lined up like ducks,” the Daily Mail quoted Charles III’s daughter-in-law as saying.
The Dog & Duck Pub is part of the Nicholson Group, which owns several pubs across the UK and is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year. During the weekend, a number of festive events will be held in the establishments.
After leaving the venue, the Prince and Princess of Wales stopped briefly with the crowd on Frith Street to take selfies with fans.
