“Our hearts are broken and we don’t know how to go on. We are sorry to announce that Jock has passed away. There are many words to describe him, many stories to tell about him. But until we are ready, our pain cannot be expressed in words,” the family said in a statement.
Jock made his television debut in 2014 during the sixth season of MasterChef Australia. He was a judge and chef on the project and became the host after the eleventh season. The chef actively led social networks, where he published recipes famous for their simplicity of cooking.

The death of the TV star became known on the eve of the broadcast of the 15th season of the MasterChef show, in which Jamie Oliver should be a judge. The premiere was canceled this week to honor the memory of the deceased.
Jock’s death is another in a series of tragic departures from the lives of chefs. In 2018, American chef Anthony Bourdain was found dead in a hotel in France. A year later, Justin Ball, the personal chef of actor Russell Crowe, died. His body was found in his own cafe in Sydney.
