Blinovská was detained by the FSB while attempting to cross the borders of the Russian Federation in a car she had borrowed. The time coach had plane tickets to another country in his hands. The 41-year-old “mother of all infogypsies” was brought to the investigative committee for questioning.

Elena Blinovskaya is accused of not paying taxes for 918 million rubles, as well as legalizing 43 million obtained by criminal means. According to the investigation, in the period from 2019 to 2021, the producer of the film “Marathon of Desire” underestimated her income and organized the receipt of funds to the accounts of 18 interdependent and controlled organizations and 3 natural persons of entrepreneurs using a simplified tax system. In addition, investigators believe that she tried to legalize part of the funds by buying a car for her husband Alexei and paying for equipment for his business.

Criminal proceedings were initiated against the TV presenter under Articles 198 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and 174.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (especially large tax evasion by an individual, legalization (laundering) of dirty money on a particularly large scale or other property acquired by a person as a result of committing a crime).

In March, law enforcement officials announced that Blinovská was being investigated after several buyers of her courses wrote to police believing they had been defrauded. Activists complained about Elena to the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation – they asked her to check her business for the presence of the “Lerchek scheme”. Blogger Valeria Chekalina is suspected of tax evasion in the amount of more than 300 million rubles, as well as of laundering a large amount of money.
